Floating house

Houseboat in the Amstel river

A houseboat for a father and his two children in the Amstel river, at the foot of the Rembrandt tower. A floating black box, made of black pine boards, with window frames of American white oak and a grass roof. Inside, a large concrete countertop is set beneath enormous sliding windows with a view of the Berlage bridge. A dining room below water level and a living room just above it, with a view over the water.
