Perceptual Roofscape for Tripolis
Deconstructing the Orphanage
A workshop with Steven Holl at the Berlage Institute (then still in Aldo van Eyck’s Orphanage in Amsterdam) included this assignment incorporating James Turrell, craters and dunes.
We created deconstructive nightwear for the Orphanage with ten slide projectors. The roofscape was not only visible from the surrounding office building Tripolis (also by Van Eyck), but could also be viewed through the skylights in the roof.
