‘Hus en Hiem’ (Home and hearth) in wood
On a leftover plot in a Vinex area, the client commissioned a large wooden house. A nearly symmetrical, autonomous house, that tries to quietly counter the meticulousness of the Vinex development. The ground floor is divided into three sections. At the center, Demerara Greenheart wood flooring is laid continuously from inside to the outside terrace. On either side, the flooring consists of natural stone. The tripartite composition continues over part of the first floor. The exterior is clad in black wooden slats, the casement windows are framed in white.
